Review ofThe Residence at Salem Woods
4.4

This is a place you should definitely look at and speak to them about the services they offer. This is something to truly think about for your loved one. The activities and the community being a smaller community stands out to me. I feel the staff listen to any questions or concerns I have and passed to the appropriate team member. The Residences is able to assist with physical and occupational therapy, housekeeping, walking my loved one to and from dinner and laundry service..

What stuck out to my mother the most about The Arbors was the overall feeling we got when walking it, it was definitely the most homey and comfortable place that we saw and it is a smaller community. She has a 1 bedroom deluxe room so it is plenty big enough for her things. So far things have worked out pretty well and we would recommend them to other families.

Complete guide to independent living

Boston, Massachusetts

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the choice to live an active life while making sure their essential needs are fulfilled. Residents may continue to use their free time as they wish while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of costs and advantages to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in the plan: private phone, internet access, cable TV, parking, utilities, field trips, laundry, and Waiting list deposit. The luxuries associated with independent living include laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, game/TV room, restaurant-style dining hall, private rental hall, transportation, and golf course.
